[Application Open] 2010 APPLICATION UPDATE - NEW AND RETURNING APPLICANTS

Thank you for your patience as we retooled and updated the security of our online application. It is now ready for use and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, if you have all materials ready. The application link is below.

The application process is simple:

1. Create a New User Account: If you are a returning fellow, you do not need to create a new user account, just use the same email you used throughout the year and enter your password. If you are having trouble logging in as a returning member, you can click the "Forgot Password" link and a temporary password will be sent to you. If this is your first time applying to TEAMS/AmeriCorps, you'll need to create an account to begin the application. Be sure to choose a password that is at least 8 characters and contains both letters and numbers.

2. Complete the 6 sections of the application, which save automatically as you move from step to step. As you complete each section of the application, you will see check marks appear in your Application Checklist, when you provide personal and academic information and submit required documents.

3. You can begin your application and return to it at any time. Once you have completed all sections and uploaded all required materials, you will receive an application submission verification email. You will not be able to modify it once it has been submitted and you will be notified of your application status, including problems and decisions, via email.

We have been testing this application for the past two months and we hope we discovered all the bugs and abnormalities, however, if you experience any issues, please email us ASAP and we can work to fix them. We appreciate your patience.

Application Requirements

If you meet the eligibility requirements, we invite you to submit an application for the TEAMS Program. Selection is competitive, based on your application, your resume, and your statement of purpose.

The PRIORITY DEADLINE is April 30th, 2010 for decisions by May 15th, 2010.
The GENERAL APPLICATION deadline has been extended to August 31, 2010 for the 2010-11 academic year, unless otherwise extended.

We do accept applications after the deadlines on a space-available basis. In the event that our program numbers are reached, we will place up to 20 Fellows on our waiting list.

To successfully complete the TEAMS/AmeriCorps application, you will need to have the following information accessible:

  1. Personal and Academic information
  2. A scanned, electronic copy of proof of US residence or citizenship (US Passport, birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Legal Permanent Resident Card) -

Driver's License and Social Security cards are NOT accepted as proof of citizenship.

  • To expedite the processing of your application, we ask that you upload or email your proof of US residency or citizenship. If you are unable to attach this documentation to your online application, YOU MUST SUBMIT THEM TO OUR OFFICE WITHIN 14 CALENDAR DAYS OF YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSION IN ORDER FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETE AND CONSIDERED. We will accept emailed, faxed or mailed submissions. Email is the safest. If you decide to use the US Postal Service, we suggest that you send it via CERTIFIED MAIL with CONFIRMATION to ensure that your documents reach our office.

Online Application

We are pleased to offer our application process online to add to the convenience and security of the application process. You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been successfully received by our office.

TEAMS/AmeriCorps will send you confirmation e-mails when you start and submit your application. We will also send your decision notification and orientation information via e-mail. Please update your e-mail account to accept e-mails from teams.application@gmail.com and jdlute@usfca.edu so that these communications are not rejected as "spam" or sorted to a junk mail folder.
