Ms. Fernandez is one of the founders of the TEAMS Program and has eight years of experience directing teaching fellowship programs. As Director of the program, she is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of program development and implementation including budget management, recruitment, member training, and partner relations. Her experience in youth development, tutoring and teaching provides her with a grounded perspective on teacher development. She sits on various boards of local community based organizations including the Cross Cultural Environmental Leadership Academy and SpeakOut. Ms. Fernandez has earned a Bachelor's degree in Politics with certificates in Ethnic and Women's Studies from the University of San Francisco, and a Master's Degree in Social and Cultural Studies from the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Lute is the Assistant Director for the TEAMS Fellowship program. Mr. Lute has over 10 years of educational program planning and management for school districts, community based organizations, as well as colleges and universities. As Assistant Director, Mr. Lute utilizes his skills to keep TEAMS programs running smoothly as well as providing orientation, recruiting, and maintaining communication with TEAMS members. His experience ranges from directing teen programs with community based organizations to starting an after school program at a local high school. Mr. Lute earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco.

Lisa is our Manager of the Education Awards Program and Office Operations. She graduated from USF with a BA in Politics and a concentration in Business.

Helen Helen Min

Helen Min is the newest addition to the TEAMS staff. She will be working closely with partners and family leaders to ensure that fellows receive support for their teaching and service learning development, and will also be overseeing the mini-grant applications for service learning projects. Helen completed her Ph.D. in the U.C. Berkeley School of Education, in the Language, Literacy, Society and Culture Program. Her research interests focused on immigrant students and their academic and social experience of learning English in public schools. Prior to graduate school, Helen was a public school teacher. She has over ten years of teaching experience in K-12 public education and post-secondary institutions. In her spare time, Helen enjoys traveling and has spent extensive amounts of time throughout Asia.
